“Maycember” List

Happy “Maycember,” as the parents like to say. This month we celebrate not just Mother’s Day and Teacher’s Appreciation Week, but also dance recitals, soccer tournaments, and end-of-the-school-year bonanzas that involve copious sweets and complicated costumes… and if you are in my family, every single family members’ birthday. (A slight hyperbole.) Don’t forget May 20th is World Bee Day and this week is International Compost Awareness Week! Lake Forest has two great options for composting - linked here and here. I highly encourage you to compost. China and the U.S. are the top 2 contributors to climate change, but FOOD WASTE is #3…so you have the power to minimize that through composting!

Needless to say, there is a lot going on! This week I am simply sharing a list of books I am currently reading.

Picture Books (A few highlights from the stack):

The Queen in the Cave by Júlia Sardà - I am convinced European authors get away with edgier books -my kids LOVED this.

Go Green! By Liz Gogerly & Miguel Sanchez

All That Trash: The Story of the 1987 Garbage Barge and Our Problem with Stuff by Meghan McCarthy
